1. Overview
Free Market (branded FMK, operated at freemarket.fly.dev) is a general marketplace and business-management platform. Business owners get a free inventory, sales, and customer-management system, and any product they add is automatically listed on the public marketplace for buyers to discover. Artisans and delivery riders can create public profiles to advertise their skills and services.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect from account holders, sellers, artisans, riders, and marketplace visitors, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using the marketplace, you agree to the practices described here and in our Terms of Usage.
2. Data We Collect
Account & business information
- Full name, email address, phone number, and password (stored securely via Firebase Authentication we never see or store your plaintext password).
- Business name, address, category, and contact details for business owners.
- Profile information, skills, service area, and portfolio media for artisans.
- Vehicle type, coverage area, and delivery details for riders.
Marketplace activity
- Products, prices, descriptions, and images you list.
- Sales, inventory, and customer records you create inside your own dashboard.
- Reviews, ratings, and reports submitted about sellers, artisans, or riders.
Technical data
- Device type, browser, and approximate location (for delivery/coverage matching only).
- Log data such as IP address and timestamps, used for security and abuse prevention.
- Cart contents and preferences stored locally in your browser (see Section 7).
3. Verification Documents
To keep the marketplace trustworthy, business owners, artisans, and riders are required to submit valid identity and business verification documents before their public profile or listings go live. Depending on your account type, this may include:
Documents must be original, valid, and unexpired. Submitting altered, borrowed, or fraudulent documents will result in immediate suspension and permanent removal from the platform, and may be reported to the relevant authorities where required by law.
Verification documents are used strictly to confirm your identity and business legitimacy before approval. They are stored in encrypted, access-restricted storage, viewed only by authorized FMK administrators during review, and are never published, shown to other users, or sold. You may be asked to re-verify if your documents expire or if your account is flagged for review.
4. How We Use Your Data
- To create and secure your account, and to verify sellers/artisans/riders before publishing their profile.
- To operate your inventory, sales, and customer-management dashboard.
- To automatically publish the products you add to the public marketplace.
- To connect buyers with sellers, riders, and artisans (e.g. via WhatsApp checkout).
- To process subscription payments through our payment partner.
- To send transactional updates and, where enabled, browser push notifications (orders, reviews, approvals, and admin announcements).
- To monitor listings and profiles for scams, prohibited items, and policy violations, and to investigate user reports.
- To improve platform performance, security, and fraud prevention.
6. Notifications & Devices
If you allow notifications, we store a browser-generated push subscription (an endpoint and encryption keys never message content) so we can send real device notifications for things like order updates, reviews, approvals, and important announcements, even when FMK isn't open in your browser. You can revoke this at any time from your browser or device notification settings, or from Settings inside FMK. Declining notifications does not affect your ability to use the marketplace.
8. Data Retention
We retain account and transaction data for as long as your account is active and as needed to comply with legal, tax, and dispute-resolution obligations. Verification documents are retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for compliance purposes, then securely deleted. You may request earlier deletion subject to Section 10.
9. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards encrypted connections, access-controlled cloud storage, and authenticated sessions to protect your data. No system is 100% secure, so we also ask that you use a strong password and never share your login credentials.
10. Your Rights & Choices
- Access, correct, or update your account and business information at any time from your dashboard.
- Request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account by contacting support.
- Disable browser push notifications at any time.
- Appeal a suspension or takedown decision (see the Terms of Usage, Section 8).

11. Children's Privacy
FMK is intended for users who are at least 18 years old, or the legal age of majority in their jurisdiction, since accounts involve financial transactions and business/identity verification. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us so we can remove it.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the platform evolves. Material changes will be announced in-app or by notification. Continuing to use FMK after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
